Suppressing the Vote. GOP tactic # 3
The destruction of democratic registration ballots, if true, is just horrible. It's a good thing that they were smart enough not to be connected with the Republican Party. Oops. I guess they aren't! So what happens next? If it follows the usual scandal route this will be the process:
1) Claim that is not true. Ask for more time for Investigation.
2) Say it is the result of "a few bad apples" all the rest of the efforts were on the up and up.
3) Find and smear the people who brought it to our attention it was from a "Democrat temp worker with a history of blank who told the I-team about it. He got fired yada, yada, yada. Disgruntled worker, close to the election, blah, blah, blah."
4) Call for an investigation that is run by the states themselves (not an independent body) but it won't have time to change anything until months later.
5) Put out a report that talks about the "few bad apples" but never really talks about the systemic plan to destroy or minimize democratic registrations.
UPDATE: Just saw on FOX Channel 2 the company response to this story: It is about a "disgruntled employee". Number 3 in process: CHECK.
Also the Republican National Party says they have a "Zero tolerance policy" for these kind of acts. Well gee, that's swell but what kind of safe guards did you put in place so this didn't happen. Any? Were there any kind of "encouraging words" that they want more Republicans than Democrats?
And of course one of the ways to minimize the story is to find an "equalivant" example. They point to another group called ACORN that also did some voter fraud with a Democratic slant. I think any voter registration fraud is terrible. I'm just as pissed off at Democratic shenanigans as Republican shenanigans. I just read about the ACORN story. The ACORN story features another disgruntled worker (who is involved in a discrimination lawsuit). What a surprise.
Gee, do we need the UN to come an police us?
