This year's Butterfly ballot?

Woman votes straight democrat ticket in Texas. What's this? It turns out in Texas if you vote the straight demo ticket the machine assumes you really want to vote for BUSH! Silly voter. What were you thinking?

When pressing ENTER after marking Straight Democrat, some voters inadvertently turned the SELECT wheel one click through the ballot while meaning to go to the final "PROOF" page. If you hit ENTER at that point, your cursor is over the first candidate on the ballot: Bush/Cheney.

The interface for this voting machine sucks, so of course BLAME THE VOTER! How convienent that if an error could happen it helps Bush/Cheney. In Texas. Wow! How many other errors are we NEVER GOING TO HEAR ABOUT? I'm really glad we are doing the massive field test on this new technology on a group of people who are so out of it that they continue to believe that Iraq had actual WMDs.

Here is my favorite part.

We thank everyone who has written or called in with their concerns. We understand these concerns considering what happened in Florida in 2000. But here in Travis County, Texas in 2004 there is nothing to worry about.
