Joyful Video. Dance Edition: Ghostworld intro
This is the third in a series of joyful video clip. It is from the wonderful movie Ghostworld.
It is such a great film I bought the DVD AND the script. A brilliant little film with some incisive and cutting dialogue. You have to hear the dialog in context to appreciate it. (Here's a link to the broadband trailer)
It starts out with this wild video from the 1965 Bollywood film Gumnann (Lost One). The song is Jan Pahechan Ho. Here is a review of the movie it self. I haven't seen the movie, but it sounds interesting in a campy kind of way.
I love the frenetic dancing and the excellent surf guitar, but mostly the girl dancer in the gold lame fringe dress who just seems to be having a blast dancing. That is some joyful dance energy. The dance number is 5 minutes long, but I only put up the first 2 minutes.
I recommend you rent or buy the Ghostworld video to see the entire clip on the special features.
("Yeah, that'll definitely happen." I can hear one of the characters from Ghostworld saying.)
