Bush to rename rebuilt French Quarter "Freedom" Quarter

Haliburton has the 1.7 billion dollar no-bid contract for the job.

"I never liked the name French Quarter anyway," said the President "It is too sissified. The new Freedom Quarter will be a tougher, more muscular American place. Where you can drink a beer and look at white college girls go wild."

Yes, me. It's a joke I created on my way to EschaCon. Told it to all the fine people there.

But it sure sound like something they would do, doesn't it?

LLAP,

If you are a reporter/writer for the Daily Show, Conan, etc. drop me a line if you want to credit the human source for real.

spockos brain (nospaces) AT the short name for google's email service dot com
(If you are a writer for the daily show I figure you are smart enough to figure that one out!)

You should be more responsible ... people are linking to you and taking it seriously. This is how stupid rumors get started. Put a disclaimer up there.

Oh come on Joe! Surely you jest?

Is it my fault that this government is so bizarre and lame that a joke is taken for truth?
Why? Because they actually did rename french Fries Freedom frys!

It's hard to do parody these days because the truth is so un-believable.

If anyone bothered to read the actual post they only had to get through one sentence to see that it was a joke. Unless you think the president would really say something that dumb. But I guess since he has a history of saying strange things I suppose you could be fooled.

ME being responsible because of this quote? How about the President being responsible for his slow response to the hurricane?
Oh, that's right he "took responsibility" read my long discussion with Jim and martini 2 olives to see my take on that phrase.

Joe I don't think he should put a disclaimer. People can read the comments to find out it is a joke. If people were "responsible" they would bother to read a bit more on the webpage and realize it is a joke.
Moreover, that is part of the problem with people today. They don't scrutinize what they hear, read, and see in the media.

Just watch: it'll happen for real and then the joke will be on us.

(if this joke shows up on the Daily Show, I'll be watching for "Spocko's Brain" in the credit roll)
