Today I was Pompous and my Sister was Crazy.

Go see the movie Serenity . It is great fun. Hollywood looks at opening weekends, let them know we want more like this. It has heart, action, humor and Kaylee.

Most fun I've had at an adventure movie in years. Maybe later I'll address some of the themes in the movie, but for now, go see this move. If you don't have a good time I'll gladly refund your money in quatloos.

Bonus eratne? Ita Vero! (Was it good? Yes!)
I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think much of the plot and acting was what star wars should have been. The only major stinking poinsts were, one, many scenes were too bright, especially after transferring from very dark scenes, and most of the jokes were a bit predictable. In all, it was a good movie, and I endorse it.

Glad to here you liked it. Now I won't have to send you quatloos.

Yea, the jokes might have been perdictable, but it was still a damn sight funnier than anything George Lucus came up with!

Did you ever see the TV series?
If not, your comments are even more interesting, because your expectations were different.

Yep, best adventure/scifi movie of the year so far.

And Kaylee has always been my favorite. The captain can have Inara.

I just went and saw it today. Thanks for the tip. Great movie, awesome story line. The way sci-fi movies should be made. Oh and add your readership list to 15. I'll be back regularly to check up on ya.

Shiny! I should have known that in my hunt to find someone to share my Serenity fascination to check here first. I've seen it three times already and bought Firefly on DVD. I spent the first week after buying the DVDs wandering around saying, "I'm a lifelong sci-fi fan, I love Joss Whedon, HOW IN THE HELL DID I MISS THIS SERIES?" Because I totally did. If they wonder why it didn't do as well as they hoped on tv they should have figured out how to advertise to me. I'm making up for lost time with my DVDs, comic books, 'Official Visual Companion,' and mulitiple theater visits. Over on my blog I have a "Which Serenity Character Are You?" test result posted with a link to the test. Scroll down, it's there somewhere with a picture of Zoe.

Well of COURSE I'm up on all the great SF!

I'm also testing out the new 'Alien's invade AMERICA!" shows. So far not too impressed with either Threshold or Invasion. Haven't checked out Surface yet.
I'm just going to watch the new BSG miniseries again and hopefully hook some other people on what a great show THAT is.

I think the Firefly got missed by people for lots of reasons. I also think that watching it on DVD is a great way to go. The show really builds and the movie makes a great the climax! Yee HAW!

I also like to wonder what is going on in the collective unconscious or zeitgeist that we have all these "Aliens attack!" TV shows. Hmmmm. Not too hard to figure that out.

The end of Serenity had both a innocence to it "Get it to the media!" as well as a cynical understanding of government.
