Code Wolf! Er I mean Code Red

Why don't I trust the color warning system? Because it has become (always was?) a political PR tool. Ridge admitted it. You think that Chertoff is less of a political tool?

Real people doing the real work of tracking and busting up terrorist plots, like my friends on Engstrom Dr., know that by the time this alert went out it was history.

There might have been a reason to give this warning THE HIGHEST WARNING WE HAVE. I don't want to be cavalier about anything to do with national security. But of course if it was REALLY so critical maybe Bush should have come off of vacation.

This attack alert was used by Cheney purely for partisan purposes and it is a slap in the face of the people who are doing the REAL work to protect us. Why? Because they have devalued a potential tool to protect people. That is why it has become a Code Wolf. They have proven their real political fear motives based on Ridge's own comments. We can't trust them. And when someone REALLY wants to use a Red Alert to get people to do something? Well, gee is this different from the other "Red Alerts" or should I just finish my coffee?

John A over at America Blog has some good posts about this just illustrating how craven this administration is using this alert.

ever heard the 'dog the bounty hunter' theme song? 'there's fear and darkness all around you- the criminals are on the run...'

Why do the terrorists *always* wait until a few months before the elections to start plotting?

Must be their insane hatred of democracy.

I wonder about that to. It's almost like hate our freedoms.

I read a lot more interesting stories about the whole deal.

So did Osama have a hand in this? Oh yeah what ever happened to him? If not, him then what does that say about our efforts to combat terrorists.

This adminstration is busy chasing 1 percent chances of things and the one guy who we know was a higher danger than 1 percent? Ignored? Why?

Oh and I just want to say that this terrorist attack being foiled will be BAD news for the Republicans and good for the Democrats.

You know I have to say that just to remind the media about their favorite narrative and what bullshit it is. "Lieberman loses Good news for Republican's"
Delay indicted "Good News for Republicans" Libby indicted good news for Republicans!"

Terrorist attack foiled good news for Republicans.

Everything can't be good news for them or it just makes it meaningless.

this is so obvious that it isn't worth mentioning- except it is so sad and pathetic. you have to feel sorry for folks who have to stoop to such levels to try and hold onto whatever scrap of power isn't running through their fingers like sand. they want to have it both ways- al quaeda has been decimated- not as big of a threat because of american prowess and might. on the other hand- al quaeda is behind everything to try and blow up planes. come on which is it? the only thing this masterminded plot is going to do is piss of airline travellers. everytime they step on a plane and have to throw away stuff- they will remember alright- remember to vote these half wits out.
